Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the services provided by The Just Ironing Company Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) and our website.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. By booking or using our services, or by using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services or website.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights.

Payment Terms

  • A minimum order value of £30.00 per service applies. Orders below this value will be charged at £30.00.
  • All invoices are issued electronically.
  • Payment must be made within 7 days of delivery of your laundry via bank transfer.
  • We reserve the right to suspend services where invoices remain unpaid.

Late Payment Fees

  • Any overdue invoice will incur an administrative charge of £2.50 per weekly reminder until payment is received in full.

Service & Delivery

  • Where we accept a booking, we will make every reasonable effort to fulfil it. If we are unable to do so, we will inform you as soon as possible, and no charge will be made.
  • You are responsible for making suitable arrangements for collection and delivery, including providing clear instructions and access.
  • Once laundry has been delivered to an agreed safe place, handed directly to you, or to a person nominated by you, liability for loss or damage transfers to you.
  • We do not accept responsibility for items that are lost or damaged after delivery has been completed.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service where it is reasonable to do so, including where ongoing collection or delivery issues occur.

Cancellations & Missed Collections

  • A Non-Cancellation Fee of £20.00 will apply where a customer fails to cancel a scheduled collection by 5:00 pm on the day before collection.
  • This fee reflects administrative costs and lost capacity resulting from late cancellations.
  • This fee is in place to allow us to reallocate collection slots to customers on our waiting list.
  • Any cancellation made after 5:00 pm on the day before collection will be charged the £20.00 late cancellation fee.

Pricing

  • All prices are subject to review and may increase from 1 January each year.

Care of Items & Liability

  • We adhere to strict quality protocols, including:
    • Ironing dark fabrics on the reverse to reduce the risk of shine
    • A strict no-smoking policy to ensure garments are returned fresh and crease-free

Damage & Compensation

  • In the unlikely event that an item is damaged while in our care, compensation will be limited to:
    • £30.00 per item, up to a maximum total claim of £200.00 per order
  • All claims must:
    • Be reported at the time of delivery
    • Be supported by proof of purchase or value
  • These limits do not apply where damage is caused by our negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
  • Items already showing signs of damage, shine, or heat sensitivity may be returned un-ironed to avoid misunderstanding regarding liability.

Exclusions

  • Items without care labels are processed entirely at the customer’s risk.
  • Leather items, garments with buttons, buckles, beading, sequins, or other decorative features are processed entirely at the owner’s risk.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather conditions, illness, vehicle breakdowns, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Amendments to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.

It is the customer’s responsibility to review the Terms and Conditions regularly. Continued use of our services after any changes come into effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree to any revised Terms and Conditions, you should discontinue use of our services and website.
